Recent months have seen a dramatic increase in the number of tax jobs we are being asked to fill. It is certainly a candidate led market at present and in simple micro economic terms the demand for candidates is far exceeding the supply.

This has clearly had a knock-on effect on the remuneration packages we are currently seeing being offered to potential new employees.

Given the dynamics of this fast-moving situation it is worth thinking about whether your package has been reviewed recently and if not whether you may have been overlooked. We offer a free service to candidates and potential future candidates whereby we benchmark their salaries against what similarly qualified and experienced people are earning in similar roles. This data is based on current actual salaries being paid by comparable firms for similar roles not on data collected by surveys (which is often too generalised or not based on your local market).
